Setting up your phone

To set up your phone, tap the window's logo from the top left corner of the "today screen" and select "settings". Tap on the phone icon. The message "The phone is currently off. Do you want to turn the phone on?" will appear. Tap on yes. Tap the phone icon again.

You shall see the screen as shown on the image. This is the place for you to customize your phone settings. You can customize your ring type, ring tone and keypad sounds. Choose other settings for more options to customize your phone.

At the bottom of the previous screen, you have 4 tab buttons. Tap on Services to configure telco services such as shown on the screen. Select the service/s you want and tap get settings. Fill in the required information as shown on screen.

The third tab button at the bottom is the Network button. Tap on it to configure your network. Usually, this is done automatically by your phone so it is not really necessary to configure it yourself.

The fourth tab button at the bottom is the Setting button. Tap it to set your ring mode and antenna switch. We recommend choosing speaker for ring mode. If you're using a headset, then you should choose the earphone option.

At the bottom of the same screen, you can enable or disable your antenna switch. Basically, we recommend you choosing the disable function as you will not be able to make calls if you choose enable with your antenna flipped down.

Once you've finished setting up your settings, it's time to import your contacts. Tap on the window's logo, choose programs and tap on the SIM contacts. Alternatively, you can transfer your contacts via Infrared or thru your computer by using the Active Sync.

You can adjust the brightness of your screen by adjusting your backlight. To do that, tap on the Windows logo from the "today screen" and choose settings. Tap on the system tab button located at the bottom of the screen. At the top right corner, tap on the backlight icon.

You'll see two sliding bars which you can adjust. Tap on the slider bar to adjust the brightness. Usually, you can just do so by adjusting the first bar which is brightness on battery. Usually, it is common to leave the second bar on default.

Tap on the second tab button on the bottom of the screen named Battery Power. There, you'll have the options to set your backlight to turn off automatically. This feature is meant for saving battery power when your phone is not in use.

On the third tab button at the bottom of the screen named External Power, you can set the same settings like above whenever your phone is connected to an external power, for instance your AC Y-Adapter while charging your phone.

Setting your phone battery power

You can set the phone battery power settings to conserve power. You can do that either by accessing it from the windows logo > settings > Power icon or click on the word Power at the bottom of the previous screen while adjusting your backlight.

Once tapped, you shall see the state of both your main battery and backup battery just like the screen you saw earlier while charging your phone. Tap on the Advanced tab and set your phone to turn off automatically when not in use. While in off mode, your phone will still be on but your screen will be off in order to conserve energy when not in use.

In order to conserve energy, it is recommended that you flip your antenna up. This is because with the antenna up, it's easier to receive your communication waves thus requiring less power from your phone.

When you intend to keep your antenna flipped up, push the little button to block it from flipping down accidentally. By doing this, not only are you improving your signal strength, you are conserving power at the same time.
